DECOLITE 5 x 15" Snare Drum 1900s Duplex Shell 30s Vtg Nickel Ludwig Hardware

Description

Decolite is my custom drum brand using vintage hardware from the traps and swing eras. I aim to make fully giggable drums using the best parts of vintage drum engineering. Each drum is one of a kind.
This one is a 5 by 15-inch snare made from an early 1900s (or perhaps late 1800s) Prussian-style shell that was possibly a Duplex. This shell was originally undrilled, so there are no extra holes anywhere. It retains its original bearing edges, snare beds, black wood grommet and lacquer finish as well.
Hardware is a mix of vintage nickel plated stuff. Strainer and butt are German Tromsa or Trowa, tube lugs, tension rods, rim clips and rims are 30s-40s Slingerland or Ludwig.
Shell is in excellent shape with minor cosmetic wear. In round, both roundover bearing edges very clean. Hardware has varying amounts of patina and wear but is all sold, no cracks or stripping anywhere. The strainer has been hand-modified to function better than when it was new, and it both holds tension and throws the wires off very effectively.
