Slingerland 1960's Red Sparkle "Modern Jazz Outfit" 12, 14, 20 with snare

Slingerland Red Sparkle 1960's Vintage "Modern Jazz Outfit." These drums were purchased one at a time by the original owner, starting in 1962 with just the snare drum. He ordered it with clip hoops and no muffler to save money. He added a Slingerland muffler later, but it's placed a little too low to be fully functional. The snare has 8 lugs and a mahogany interior, with original clips and tension rods. The 8 by 12" Tom has no badge or vent hole and is stamped '63 inside the clear maple interior. There is a fair amount of fade on the front side of the Tom. The 14 by 20" Bass Drum has a mahogany interior and a slight bubble/lift on one of the seams. There is fading on top of the drum, to the same degree as the 12" Tom. Hoops are original and both are missing approximately half of their inlay. The black paint is chipped off in many places. The 14 by 14" Floor Tom has a "chocolate milk" painted interior, with a few splits in the inner ply that seems to be common with this era of Slingerland shells. Drums present well and were definitely well-loved and played a lot by the original owner, although they were in storage for more than 30 years before I purchased them. The hardware is clean, but shows a fair amount of pitting consistent with the age of the drums. The three badges are all Niles, Illinois.
