vintage slingerland Gene Krupa drum set.
In very good used condition. 22x14 bass 16x16 floor tom, 13x9 rack tom. I am not sure if this is a Radio King or not, it has rerings and all the info on these older Slingerlands are very confusing to me. I was told they were and that they are 1959 or 1960 however the stamp on all of the drums is very blurry, took pics and enlarged them and looks to me 1960 but not 100%. Black and gold badge on bass drum, no badges on toms or vent holes, that’s from factory. Not sure what the finish is called, glass glitter? Looks like a faded gold sparkle or champagne but it’s very shiny and in great condition. All internal mufflers are present and fully functional, rail mount works perfectly along with the cymbal arm on bass drum. Wrap is in good condition, looks like bass drum hoops have been repainted to me, the inlays are a little loose at spots like most vintage kits. It does include a snare stand and cymbal stand both in great condition however no rubber feet. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that previous owner added Pearl style bass drum spurs and so there is one xtra hole on each side to accommodate these spurs, not visible, they are under the mounting plate, see pics. These spurs do elevate the front of the bass drum even at the shortest setting. This drum set is solid, beautiful and sounds amazing for its age.
